In order to promote a safe and inclusive community, display names on Classical California must adhere to all of our general Community Guidelines standards. We recognize that display names have a massive impact across our platform because of their visibility and persistence. The Foundation of Community Identity Forcing real first names in a public chat compromises privacy. To solve this, we give you full control over your persistent identity. If you do not choose a name upon account creation, our system will automatically assign you a unique classical music themed name. This ensures everyone has a recognizable identity. If you choose to customize your name in your profile, you must follow the strict rules outlined below.
Prohibited Display Names To keep the Live Community Chat focused on the music, we strictly prohibit display names that include the following:
Hateful Conduct: Slurs and derogatory terminology related to protected characteristics are strictly forbidden.
Harassment and Threats: Creating a display name that includes a personal attack or targeted profanity against another person is not allowed.
Sexual Content: We prohibit display names that reference explicit or implied sexual acts, genitalia, or sexual bodily fluids.
Personal Information: Do not use personal or private phone numbers, mailing addresses, or email addresses in your display name.
Impersonation: Attempting to impersonate Classical California hosts, moderators, or staff is not permitted.
Enforcement and Moderation Maestro, our AI moderator, actively scans new and updated display names to protect the chat ecosystem.
Blocked at Creation:
If you attempt to save an inappropriate name, the system will block the update and prompt you to choose another.
First Violation (Forced Reset): In instances where an inappropriate name bypasses the filter, we will mandate a display name reset rather than immediately suspending the account. Your account will revert to an autogenerated classical name until you update it with an appropriate choice, and a strike will be recorded on your account.
Second Violation (Suspension):
If a second display name violation is recorded on your account, your account will be suspended for 7 days regardless of the severity of the individual violation. Repeated violations reflect a pattern, not a mistake.
Severe Violations (Immediate Suspension):
Display names that constitute clear, severe violations of our standard Community Guidelines, such as threats of real life violence or hateful conduct, result in an indefinite suspension on the first offense. The two-strike system does not apply to severe violations.
