Joel and his wife, Carrie Kennedy, are both violinists, and they lost their Altadena home in the Eaton fire.
Today we're launching something new, Notes from the Fires. Every week, reporter John Rabe will introduce you to members of the classical community who’ve been hurt by the Eaton and Palisades fires, whether they lost their homes, were smoked out, or lost their businesses. We'll follow these musicians and neighbors over the next year, bringing you their stories each Tuesday at 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
