Celebrating 50 Years of Printmaking for the Art Stars: Our Interview with Gemini G.E.L. Co-founder Sidney Felsen
In 1966, the print workshop Gemini G.E.L. opened its doors in Los Angeles. In the fifty years since, the shop became renowned for not only the quality of its work, but also the roster of internationally celebrated artists who came to work with Gemini. A new exhibition at LACMA, The Serial Impulse at Gemini G.E.L. opens September 11th and will put on display 15 print series, from seminal works by Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, and Frank Stella to more recent series by Richard Serra and Julie Mehretu.
We spoke with Gemini Co-Founder Sidney Felsen in advance of the exhibit.
